Equalizer 5 Custom Screen
The L&G Equalizer Custom Screen throws out the pre-configured layouts and lets you work directly with the studio to build whatever arrangement your space actually needs. Instead of choosing between 2-piece, 4-piece linear, or radial configurations, this option creates custom compositions using multiple aluminum tubes and glass globes arranged however makes sense for your installation. Could be a vertical screen dividing a space, a cascading stairwell arrangement, an asymmetrical lobby statement, or whatever else your architect dreamed up that doesn't fit standard product templates. Uses multiple 12-inch round canopies positioned across your ceiling to support the structure, so you're not limited to hanging everything from one or two points.
The frosted scalloped glass linear tubes (always included, not optional) create diffused glow along the connecting structure, while the glass globes at the ends provide 550 lumens each at 2700K. The integrated 12-volt LEDs in the linear tubes add ambient light beyond just the globe output. Same finish options as the rest of the Equalizer line: anodized aluminum in Olive, Bronze, Black, or Gold, paired with translucent glass globes in Smokey Green, Cream, Grey, Bronze, or Chameleon. All the GY 6.35 bi-pin bulbs come included, dimming's standard, works with most international electrical systems. UL certification available on request, but expect a 16-week lead time instead of the usual 10-12 since you're essentially commissioning a bespoke installation.
Ladies & Gentlemen Studio's Custom Screen option shows how Dylan Davis and Jean Lee think about the Equalizer system as a toolkit rather than fixed products. Their Brooklyn studio specializes in working directly with architects, designers, and clients who need site-specific installations that standard configurations can't address - staircases with irregular dimensions, rooms with unusual ceiling heights, spaces requiring specific light distribution patterns. The custom approach means you're collaborating with the studio during the design phase to figure out tube lengths, globe positions, canopy placements, and overall composition before anything gets built. Everything's customizable for configuration, materials, and finishes, making this the option when you've got a specific vision that doesn't fit off-the-shelf solutions.
