Spun Pendant
The L&G Spun Pendant is one of those lights that looks way more complicated than it actually is - in the best possible way. The name comes from how the shade is made, with metal or glass literally spun into this clean conical shape that directs light down while still letting some glow escape around the edges. What makes it work in so many spaces is the compact size - at about 6 inches wide, it's got presence without being obnoxious. Perfect for hanging over kitchen counters where you need focused task lighting, flanking a bed as reading lights, or clustering a few over a small dining table. The 80-degree light spread means you get good coverage without that narrow spotlight effect that some pendants create.
The material combinations here are what really set it apart from your standard pendant options. You can go with frosted glass paired with a copper stem for something softer and warmer, or brushed brass with a copper stem if you want that mixed-metal look everyone's trying to pull off. The matte black powder coat version with a brass stem gives you that moody contrast, while rust or cream glass options with brass stems let you play with different levels of transparency and warmth. There's even a maple version if you want to bring wood into the mix. The glass shades produce this nice ambient glow that bounces light around rather than just shooting it straight down - matters more than you'd think when you're actually living with it daily. Comes with an 8-foot dark grey fabric cord that you can adjust on-site, so you're not locked into one height. Takes standard E26/E27 bulbs (G25 or G95 size) up to 75 watts, needs a dimmable bulb and wall dimmer for mood control. At 4 pounds, installation is straightforward and the UL/cUL certification means it meets safety standards across North America.
L&G operates out of Brooklyn with this philosophy that good lighting should feel effortless even when the design isn't simple. They're working with spun metal, hand-blown glass, and quality materials that age well rather than just look good in product photos. The Spun Pendant shows that approach - thoughtful proportions, honest materials, and enough finish options that you end up with something that actually fits your space instead of forcing your space to work around generic lighting.
